Tech Forum September Update

A Note from the Board

{Contact_First_Name},

This past month we held our annual Fall into Networking event. It was great to see everyone once again and get back into the swing of things after taking a month off in August.

Every August we hold our board retreat to reflect on the past year and plan for the new year. This year we took some time to review our mission statement and had in-depth conversations on the value we provide our members and sponsors.

I’m pleased to share that we had some very constructive conversation and we be announcing some changes over the coming months.  One difference is that we will be starting to have a member/sponsor only pre-event. As the saying goes, membership has it's privileges, and we will be opening the doors 30 minutes early so members and sponsors can get to spend a little more time together building those relationships.

If you aren’t a current member and would like to take advantage, please visit: http://www.techforumde.org/TFODMembership to learn more. We will be sharing additional changes soon.

For our October event, we will be looking at Drones in Construction. Drones are used in many ways to assist with construction today. We are going to get an inside look at how Bancroft Construction, EDIS, and The Buccini/Pollin Group are leveraging this technology and how it will impact the future of construction. Rumor has it we may even see a demo or two.

Our next event is 10/17 at Wilmington University, and I hope to see you there!

Our Next Event

There is an eye in the sky taking construction to new heights

Today's construction goes far beyond hammers and nails as new, cutting technology becomes part of the foundation of the industry.

Drone Technology is now being used in construction for everything from digitally mapping out sites to cutting down surveying times, keeping up on the progress and productivity of ongoing work to going into potentially hazardous situations and so much more.

Come and join us as our presenting companies, EDIS, Bancroft and BPGS, give us greater insight and understanding into the innovative benefits of drone technology in their respective construction projects throughout the state of Delaware.

We will also have a presentation from the Wilmington University faculty as they discuss their new drone certification program.

You won't want to miss this event so register today!

High-Tech Art Breakfast

Marketing via tech and art, $10 experiments to $1MM projects,

A spool of thread isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when you think “high-tech mechanized art”. For Andrew Zolty, co-founder of BREAKFAST, it actually was.

BREAKFAST specializes in incorporating technology and extravagant art styles to create a true 21st century style of marketing.

Zolty’s think-outside-the-box mentality has taken him, and his company, from $10 experiments to million dollar projects.

BREAKFAST has been praised by Adweek, Wired, and others for his work in the revolutionary thread screen campaign for Forever 21 and his technology featured in the Museum of Modern Art. Zolty’s flip-disc tech is featured all around the world in multiple interactive and digital advertisements and installations.

Zolty will be speaking to Tech Forum on November 14 recounting his journey in developing his technology and the struggles of being the founder of such a successful company.
