Dr. Dylan TempleInteger Technologies
Vice President of Research Dylan Temple, Ph.D., is the vice president of research at Integer Technologies, where he leads the company’s rapidly expanding portfolio of applied research initiatives. He directs innovation across critical domains, including maritime autonomy, power and energy systems, sensing and perception, and cyber- physical resilience. As an executive leader, Temple is responsible for guiding technical strategy, overseeing complex program execution, and architecting the collaborative ecosystems necessary to transition emerging technologies into mission-ready capabilities for national security customers. By working closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and academia, he shapes strategic research initiatives that actively close critical capability gaps. Before assuming his current executive role, Temple served as Integer’s director of technology development. In this capacity, he spearheaded technologies and partnerships in distributed uncrewed systems, digital engineering, and power solutions, providing strategic oversight of science and technology programs with the company’s university partners. He was instrumental in developing long-term strategic roadmaps that guided crucial technology investments for both partners and defense customers. Prior to joining Integer, Temple spent more than three years as a senior lead engineer supporting the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy. There, he managed a $60 million portfolio of high-risk, high-reward offshore energy projects, providing technical oversight for initiatives focused on macroalgae mariculture, floating offshore wind, and hydrokinetic energy conversion. Temple began his career at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, conducting physical and numerical hydrodynamic analysis. He holds a doctorate in naval architecture and marine engineering from the University of Michigan, where his research focused on combining heuristic and gradient-based optimization methods for complex design spaces. |
