Roddy FlynnCongresswoman Sarah McBride
Chief of Staff Roddy currently serves as the Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Sarah McBride (DE-AL), building the newly-elected Congresswoman’s office staff and strategy development for her freshman term in Congress. Previously, he was the first Executive Director of the Delaware Broadband Office, which manages Delaware’s implementation of the American Rescue Plan Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s high-speed internet deployment and digital equity programs. Roddy has also served in the Biden/Harris Administration, appointed by the White House to the Internet for All initiative, which was tasked with implementing the $48 billion high-speed internet expansion portions of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Before that, he served as Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-05), the then-Vice Chairwoman of the House Judiciary Committee. In 2021, he was awarded the Best Workplace Environment Award from the Congressional Management Foundation. Roddy began his work on the Hill as the Executive Director of the bipartisan Congressional LGBTQ Equality Caucus, where he worked with 119 members of Congress to advance equality for LGBTQ people in the United States and around the world. In this role, Roddy managed the first introduction of the Equality Act, the centerpiece legislation of the LGBTQ equality movement. While with the Caucus, Roddy also served as the first Executive Director of Equality PAC, where he raised $2.98 million to support openly LGBTQ candidates and strong allies for election to federal office Roddy has also worked at the White House, the Human Rights Campaign, and as a litigator at Richards, Layton, and Finger, P.A., Delaware’s largest law firm. He received his B.A. from American University and his J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law, cum laude, where he was a Burks Research Scholar and the recipient of the Calhoun-Bond Award. |
