AI as a Powerful Force Multiplier in Technology Delivery. Almost all aspects of technology delivery now have an element of Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning integrated into them. ​

​These elements enable their customers to do more with less, gain a deeper understanding of the solution, and evolve even less-skilled resources into experts. The State of Delaware is gaining value from all these capabilities.
About Solomon
Solomon Adote is the Chief Security Officer for the State of Delaware, where he leads an information security program charged with protecting all the Delaware State network, systems, applications, and data.

With over 25 years in IT and a focus on cybersecurity, Solomon designs and implements advanced security programs, using leading technologies to stay ahead in his field. Recognized as a strategic leader, he has won the STATE CYBERSECURITY LEADER OF THE YEAR award twice.

Solomon holds degrees from Delaware State University and Regis University. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in cybersecurity management at Nova Southeastern University and possesses top cybersecurity certifications, including Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH).

Owner of AIWhoo School
AI Posing as Opponents in Games Coded by Kids
The AIWhoo School gamifies coding, teaching kids (ages 5 through 18) how to code by making video games. 
​
Students are introduced to artificial intelligence concepts, that empower them to create and interact with simple AI components serving as companions or opponents in developed gameplay.

About Matt
Dr. Matthew Saponaro, owner of AIWhoo School and a Ph.D. holder in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Delaware, combines his passion for video game development with computer science education.

​His work focuses on teaching K-12 students through coding video games, emphasizing critical thinking and logic. Dr. Saponaro contributes to computer science education and community improvement, serving on several educational boards and mentoring through Delaware Futures.

​He's involved in projects enhancing parks and trails with AI and promoting equitable medical technology access. Additionally, Dr. Saponaro has achieved Master rank in League of Legends, showcasing his expertise in competitive gaming.

Jon Schlegel is a distinguished cybersecurity leader with a rich background spanning over two decades in various high-stakes environments, including the military, education, and the private sector.

​As the Global Chief Information Security Officer at DuPont since September 2022, Jon has been instrumental in developing and implementing robust information security programs for this premier multi-industrial manufacturing company based in Wilmington, Delaware. His expertise not only lies in enhancing organizational security postures but also in pioneering innovative cybersecurity strategies.

In addition to his role at DuPont, Jon has been contributing to the academic field as an Adjunct Faculty member at Wilmington University since January 2010, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses focused on cybersecurity and intelligence topics.

At the forefront of bioinformatics data science, Dr. Cathy H. Wu's research leverages natural language processing and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) to pioneer in gene-disease-drug knowledge discovery and the advancement of equitable healthcare solutions.​
About Cathy
Holding the prestigious Unidel Edward G. Jefferson Chair in Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Delaware, Dr. Wu is a leading figure in bioinformatics and computational biology. Her role extends beyond research; as the founding director of both the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology and the Data Science Institute at UD, she spearheads initiatives that foster interdisciplinary collaborations and training programs aimed at tackling large-scale data challenges that affect society.

Dr. Wu's academic contributions are substantial, with over 300 scientific papers to her name. She stands among the elite, recognized as a “Highly Cited Researcher” by the Web of Science, placing her in the top 1% of researchers globally for citation frequency. Her work not only advances the field of bioinformatics but also underscores the potential of AI/ML in promoting health equity and medical discoveries

As the Head of Data and Analytics at LabWare, Patrick spearhead a team using AI to innovate in healthcare, biotech, and pharma. With over 25 years in data and analytics leadership, he has a strong focus on driving growth, engagement, and social impact.

Before LabWare, he was the CEO and founder of CompassRed, an AI firm focusing on social media analytics. He also co-founded Delaware Data Innovation Lab, a firm promoting data literacy in Delaware. They also co-founded AceCancer, which aims to advance cancer diagnosis and treatment with AI. An author and podcast host, he holds a JD from Widener School of Law and a BS from Drexel University.
